I am happy to share with you some positive and exciting plans ahead!
I am now back in New Zealand and didn't compete in the WorldSBK round in Portugal this past weekend. This wasn't such a bad thing however, as I'm much happier to be back home and surrounded by people supportive in working hard to achieve big things in racing... It has also been a breath of fresh air to be home much earlier than usual and able to plan ahead for the upcoming racing season in NZ!! I have already got hold of my brand new Kawasaki ZX6r which we will be campaigning up in the 2018 New Zealand Championship season. With the support of MTF Finance and Kawasaki NZ, along with Spectrum Motorcycles, Ozzy Performance and many more sponsors, we will have a very competitive package to take on the New Zealand Supersport 600cc title fight.
We know that this racing will be much better publicity for my sponsors here in New Zealand, as I travel the country competing in six major race events throughout the country (dates below) and many more smaller events over summer. Along with some big shows, ACC Bike Safety events, and the Hamilton Sevens with MTF, it's going to be a full-on Summer season ahead. It's currently that time of year where you can just about smell the warmer temperatures coming, and it's making really excited to get out riding & among the action again.
In the meantime I'm keeping very busy as usual; getting back to work and keeping up my full-time university study, alongside training and putting the racing plans into place.
This week we will be stripping down the Kawasaki ZX6r from a road bike so it's ready for my mechanic Chris to work his magic on at Ozzy Performance. Keep an eye out on Facebook for more updates, and also next Sunday on TV Three's CRC Motorsport where I will be publicly announcing these racing plans & dates.
